Language Camp

This week I went with all of the other inbound exchange students to a language camp meant to prepare us for the beginning of our life here in Perú. The camp took place on the coast, which made me feel at home being right next to the ocean and the sound of crashing waves and sea birds.

All of our lessons were taught in a combination of English and Spanish, and we learned everything from self defense, (with the help of a few police officers of course,) to how to start a conversation with our classmates in school. It was a lot to take in at once, but we were relieved to have all of our questions answered.

Getting to know all of the other exchange students was really fun as well, whether it was while competing against other teams to build a Rotary logo sandcastle, or just talking over breakfast.

I´m already looking forward to spending more time with some of my new friends over this year.
